Inspiring (and refreshing) wisdom from His Holiness the Dalai Lama.......
Proof of Love
We humans have existed in our present form for about a hundred thousand years. I believe that if during this time the human mind had been primarily controlled by anger and hatred, our overall population would have decreased. But today, despite all our wars, we find that the human population is greater than ever. This clearly indicates to me that love and compassion predominate in the world. And this is why unpleasant events are "news"; compassionate activities are so much a part of daily life that they are taken for granted and, therefore, largely ignored.

AH! This warms my heart!! We (humanity as a whole) just need to change our focus over to the things we seem to be taking for granted… but I've believed that for a long time … “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Gratitude works for me! :)
Beth,
Thank you for sharing the Dalai Lama's thoughts, and your refreshing heart… you both share a certain wisdom that is quite beautiful.
I've always believed that of the 5ish billion people who share this planet, the vast majority (99% plus) live every day with love, despite the pressures and oppression that the power brokers heap on us.
In the end, when humanity is faced with the choice to grow, or to go… we will always grow, and at the heart of that growth, is love.
There is definitely something to be said in “power to the people… who love”.
Thanks for your lovely blog.
Dave
I love this! Thank you so much! It reminds me of the words of the Bengali poet and Nobel Prize Winner, Rabidranath Tagore:
“Every child comes with the information that God is not yet discouraged of (hu)mankind.”
That totally gave me the chills!
